Well the only thing left to do with Festers cage is put the roof on it. Then he can go back outside and we will see how he does from there. His leg is very weak and skinny because he speeds so much time in his sleeping bag. I think being outside will help him to come out and run around a bit and strenghten that leg. I will get pictures when I am done and he is in the cage.

I will bet once Fester sees he is outside he will spend a lot more time moving around and really strengthen that leg up fast. I look forward to seeing the cage as I know what great work you do on them. I bet Fester will be one happy camper once he gets in there.

Well Fester is out in his release cage now. His leg is slowly getting better. He was so very happy to be back outside it made my heart feel good. Poor little guy has been through so much in his short life. Now he will have a second chance at it. He has come a very long way. He is the picture of health now. Except for the rear leg a roaming cat decided to alter for him ERRRRR that really gets under my skin. I guess that is what irrespocable pet owners get, a cat and let it roam. ERRRRR Anyways here are a couple of pics of him. As he gets more used to being out in his cage I will get more pics of him.

Fester looks great! Isn't it amazing what some good care and the right meds will do? You should be really proud of how well he has done because he would not have made it without you.

What a lucky fellow Fester is. That is a perfect cage for him and I love that feeding drawer. Wish I had your talent with building stuff. You did a fantastic job.

The swelling is not uncommon and it may never go down to the same size as the other, but if he can use it pretty well he will adapt and be able to make it out there pretty well. Wild squirrels adapt really well to "handicaps" and usually do quite well.

Well we will give him a couple of weeks and evaluate him then. So far so good though he gets around the cage pretty well. But I still want to see him moving faster before I release him. I am sure that will also come in time. I sure don't want to let him go before he can survive on his own because I am sure he will NEVER come close to another human as long as he lives.
