I want you all to meet my sweet Mae Mae.  She came to me as a youngster with severe MBD.  She was paralyzed at the time and spent many visits to the vet for several treatments.  She finally overcame it to some degree but never walked properly.  She is now heading into her 7 th year of life and has developed severe arthritis issues and can hardly walk on her own any more.  She still loves to be held and talked to so long as you are careful with her fragile body.  She lately has gotten to the point where it is difficult for her to eat so she is back to formula twice a day.  She is eating that very well though and enjoys the company and the ear scratching she gets when she eats her formula.  We adore our little Mae Mae.

Awww...   I adore your little Mae Mae too!    What a PRECIOUS little girl!    Every pic and story you post makes me wish I lived close to you SO MUCH!    I would spend HOURS at your place just holding and loving all your DARLING little residents.    DANG!

Little Mae mae is doing great.  She has cut herself back on the amount of formula she drinks each day but now she is eating her veggies and other foods much better and drinking her water, which she had gotten so she would not do before.  She looks really great and is much more active lately.

She is so easy to love as she just loves to sit with you, but when she is done she will climb into your hand and lets you know she is ready to go back to her nest and rest up.  She has a lot of personality for such a tiny girl

She is doing so well now that she rarely wants the formula anymore.  She is eating her veggies very well and drinking her water now.

Karen Lovely Lita's Sheltering Tree Foundation is a wonderful place for all the squirrels that need a good home/beginning  I just want to say thank you for all you do, and anyone who can possibly donate and help out that would be wonderful

That is wonderful, she really seems to have turned it around, or I should say you turned it around.

She now is out waiting every morning for her foods.  I am very happy she is doing so well, but will continue to watch her closely and if she goes backwards at all she will be back on formula.

Little Mae mae is continuing to improve.  She was out looking at the prairie dogs today.  She has not paid any attention to them before.  She looks really good now and is much more interested in everything around her.  She waits for her food dish to appear and digs right in now too.  I tried offering her the formula and she looked at me like why would I want that?

That is so interesting SL that she would take the formula when she wasn't well, but now that she's feeling better she won't have anything to do with it.  Have you used this technique with ailing adults before and do they do the same thing she did?  I'm SO happy she is really coming along and is interested in her surroundings.  I pray she continues to do well.

Yes, I have used the formula with the sick adults many times and almost always once they are eating their regular foods they stop taking the formula.  I guess they eat what they can when they are sick and then get pickier when they feel better.

Well, that's good to know that works since the formula is pretty complete with nutrients for them
